The Portland Cookbook: Cook like a Local.
Fred Armisen and Carrie Brownstein from Portlandia, with Jonathon Krisel present this wonderful cookbook.
Portland, Oregon, is a food town- a destination for people who describe themselves, sometimes loudly, as "foodies".
The city is home to community gardens, breweries, farmer's markets, brunch spots, salt stores, backyard chicken coops, food cart pods, artisanal ice cream parlors, co-ops, mixologists, olive-oil-ologists, ice cube artists, butcherariums, designer doughnut shops, and an unreasonable amount of thoughtfully named coffee shops.
This cookbook features the best recipes from this stimulating food mecca. Many of them are inspired by the superlative ingredients native to the Pacific Northwest, but if you live somewhere else we both agree that you should be fine; you should still be able to make something work with comparable local ingredients. We think. As long as you have enough quinoa, which we definitely hope you have. They have that everywhere, though, now, right? Quinoa will be important.
"Enjoy your meal!"
